Hartford Superior Court jury returned a verdict in the amount of $262,000 in favor of a 78 year old woman injured at the Hartford Stage Company
On June 27, 2013, a Hartford Superior Court jury returned a verdict in the amount of $262,000 in favor of a 78 year old woman injured at the Hartford Stage Company. The injury occurred when a group of kids decided to engage in a dance routine in the Hartford Stage Company lobby following a breakdancing/hip hop performance in the building theater. The plaintiff suffered an injury to her right shoulder and neck when one of the dancers attempted a back flip off a display case and a portion of the display case collapsed and struck the plaintiff. The defendant denied liability and claimed that the cause of the plaintiff’s injury was the conduct of the dancer. The last settlement offer before trial was $30,000. Attorney Thomas P. Cella represented the plaintiff.
